NBD and the Squier argument

image.jpg
Yesterday I picked up a Fender Modern Player Jaguar bass for $230, and it's blowing me away. I always played Squier prior to this, and thought that they were the same, but WOW!!! this thing is on a whole new level. It's amazing how much better it feels and sounds, I'm in love. I don't think I can go back...

My CV is the only Squier that I've played that feels like other Fender's I've owned. Not the the Squier's were bad. Quite the contrary. But, I'd have a hard time telling a CV squier from my MIJ fender if I were blindfolded.

Every time I go into the music store - and this has been the case for a few years now - the Squier CVs consistently slay the field of other jazzes. I keep trying them out to see if a bad CV or a great MIM/MIA will pop up, but so far the results are consistent. The one exception about 6 months ago was an MIJ '75 reissue that was phenomenal (I should have bought it).

Really diggin' the bass! I've wanted one of those for awhile but I haven't gotten around to buying one yet. Am the only one who really wishes Fender would make a five string Jaguar under the Fender line? Squier has em' and obviously and no hate to them (I mean my two favorite basses are my 4 string CV P 60's and 5 string P VM) but I think it'd be neat to play whatever Fender would throw at us :)

Also, I really agree with all the love for the CV series. I've played a few of the vintage modifieds and I own one but I still feel like the classic vibe series is way better.
