NBD and the Squier argument

I bought a Squier VM P-Bass a while back, and immediately sold my MIM jazz, 1977 P Bass, Sadowsky, fretless Wal, Cervelo, Triumph TR3, McMansion, dog, plasma, and my soul. Squires rule that effing hard.
Yea Squier RULES!!
When I bought my affinity, all I need is to put some fender custom shop pickups, then swap the neck and body with MIA neck and body, and also replace all the parts with MIA parts, and It blows any fender anytime. Squier>Fender!!!!!!!!!

I have a Squier VM J V that I really enjoy playing and it sounds really good. But it doesn't really measure up to my P Select or my American J. My wife likes the sound of the Squire J better than my American J.
I took the Squire to band rehearsal a few weeks ago and both guitar players were surprised at how good it sounds.

I've had bad squiers and good ones. Just like any bass... quality, tone, etc changes from bass to bass. Right now I have two that are killer, and one of those two is my main bass. Never woulda thought. My Tobias Growler 5 has been hangin on the wall for quite a while now, and I've been bringing squier VM 4's on all my gigs. A good bass is a good bass. Name not withstanding. Trick is to find a good one. Played a VM5 last night at GC. Sounded like CRAP. so, like I said, not all of em are great, but many are. Congrats on your modern player. I had a Modern player strat. Had to return it. after $60 in set up and locking the trem bridge I still could not get it to play in tune. Like Squiers, Modern Players quality can change from instrument to instrument. Best of luck.
