This arrived via the big brown truck today. Absolutely spectacular instrument. You can find him on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/anthropocene_strunginstruments/

The build quality is all you could want. Tone for days with the Nordstrand pickups and preamp. It's a neck through, though hidden. It stops a couple inches short of the end. Top and back are spalted tamarind with a wenge and cherry sandwich. Neck is wenge, cherry, and mahogany (I think). Fretboard is cocobolo. Hardware by Hipshot. Frets have hidden tangs that aren't visible, and the fretwork is just how I like it. Cavity cover is in place with magnets. Pops off easily and very well held. Cavities are all shielded. Fret markers are wood, knobs are hand turned. Total time 3 months.

Scale is 35 to 33".

Communication level was outstanding with lots of picture and updates throughout the process.

Check him out if you're in the market for a boutique instrument.

Super nice! Sounds like you got everything you wanted.

Now how about some detail pictures of all the little features you were talking about?

At some point. It'll have to wait another couple of weeks. I need to spend more time on it before doing a more thorough review, pictures, and sound clips.

Suffice it to say that the studio engineer was very impressed today. The "flat" tone is outstanding.
