NBD Bacchus

Got this guy shipped from Canada earlier in the week. Bacchus Craft series WL-JB Ash 5. Thanks VSNguitars. This is really a tremendous bass and value. Fit, finish, and balance is all very nice. I put a set of DR Lo-Riders, my go to string, and that really made the bass sing. The body wood is slightly mismatched, but that doesn't really bother me. After the strings and a few tweaks the playability is off-the-wall. The pickups are also really nice. I was going in expecting to replace them, but they sound great.

For reference, its easily on par with my my StingRay 5 and probably others in the 1500-2000 price range. These basses are an excellent value at regular price. With the discount from VSN guitars, its a steal.

NICE! So YOU got the last one...i put in a order with VSN last week and i was told they ran out of these awesome bad boys...I ended up upgrading slightly to the STD JB5 but really wanted the all passive version like yours. It's schedule to be delivered this Wednesday. I'm pretty excited and the deals at VSN for these basses are incredible! I've read so many great reviews about Bacchus and cannot wait for it's arrival. Congrats, looks awesome!

I'm a passive guy so your bass was my first choice however my current and only bass is all passive so it'd be actually nice to have an active one as another option. The STD as you know have an active/passive switch but i'm now excited to get back on that "active" JBass thing... Congrats again and I'll post mine when it arrives!

A passive guy with a Fodera?

I just bought one from VSN through Reverb. It is a WL-JB ASH4. It is a matte black with matched headstock. It is absolutely gorgeous. I played on eof their low end models while I was TDY in Okinawa, and thought it was great (especially for the price). It is a shame these don't have more of a presence in the US, though that might jack the price up so I don't know. Another great company I tried over there was Edwards. It is an ESP company that makes great stuff as well.
