First gig with the new CT5. Sounds big. Piano like.

I might try a set of long scale TI flats. I think they might shine on these basses. Anyone try TI flats on a CT?

The red wood is most likely Paduak, the center Black Walnut, the wings are Mohogany.

I have no idea...lol I think the brighter red piece in the neck joint is bloodwood, so maybe the binding is mahogany since it's darker? Carl told be the body wings are walnut and the center block is black walnut...that's all I know for sure.
Any wood experts out there that can help identify all of these woods?

@davepack @JPMcGuire

The stock strings are made by GHS. Pretty sure they’re Boomers but a little longer so they fit our 36” basses.

Dave, the neck stripes are also bloodwood. Different pieces are just slightly different colors sometimes!

Thanks Joe and Dave.

Good info. I am sticking with the TI flats too for now. They really go well with the 36 scale. Sounds so good in a band mix too

@davepack @JPMcGuire

just be careful of the string length on those strings. You wanna make sure the full width of the string is going over the nut. The low strings tend to taper off at the headstock end. You could end up having some buzzing issues if the tapered portion is what’s resting on the nut.

Agree Joe. Had to order the special set for 36” scale for TIs. Fit perfect

Congrats! I've been enjoying my 36" CT for just a hair longer than @davepack and @JPMcGuire

I got Boomers after a conversation with Pete Hilton but haven't had time to put them on. If I don't like them, I may try the TI Flats. Is there a CT club?
