This is a US made bass as mentioned, the idea was to offer the same sound, playability and feel of the US Brubakers in a more affordable package. It'll be interesting to see where the prices end up on these, the machine shop that will be doing the bodies and necks is right up the road in Westminster and has worked with Kevin for a long time. So this is a completely US made bass with the esthetics toned down a bit. There also won't be a slew of options... standardization allows for an economy of scale that's key to keeping the price down. The quality will remain the same.

As far as other models, that's on the table... guess we'll see how this pans out first.

I was hooked form the first gig I did with my NBS-1 about ten years ago:D. When you have as much fun with any gear as I do, you just want to let others know. Like the featherweight sub-$300 Crown XLS1000 power amp I got last week. Four of my friends have now picked one up and they're just as impressed as I was.

Above all else this stuff is just plain fun.

Holy crap!!! I just got the bass! I am so mad that I have to stay here at work until 5, but dang!!! This thing feels great and sounds amazing acoustically. I cannot wait to plug it in tonight. I am putting the weight around 10lbs and it feels so good. The bass feels super solid!

Just thought I would send an update.

Definitely makes sense. Has there been any talk about what options will be available? Pickups/preamp/body styles, that sort of stuff?

So far, it seems to only be this body shape. I think this bass has the standard pre and pups as the full blown custom jobs. It would make sense though since the bodies will be CnC'd, that pups and pre will be already established. The whole point of this (if I am correct here) is to bring a lower cost Brubaker and get it in the hands of more players. I am not even sure about finishes. I thought Kevin mentioned that even this trans burst might push the budget out, so it could go to solid colors even.

I did ask Kevin about a maple fretboard and he stated that it would raise the cost a bit. So, I am sure if you start adding options, you can quickly get out of the target price point for these.

As always, I could be way off here and Brad is much closer to Kevin and would be able to fill you in more.
