Good question. I would assume since these are going to be CnC'd to save time and cost, they will be. I spent some time playing it at lunch unplugged and it does not feel any different than 34". I prefer 34" myself and was a bit concerned how it would feel, but if I did not know, I would not have been able to tell you that it wasn't 34".

AFAIK the Bart package Chris got will be standard. It works great in the other basses, no real reason to change it. It's been Kevin's standard for a long time. For scale length I'd think it would remain the same as the standard US scale length, 34 5/8". As Chris mentioned, it doesn't feel like anything more than a 34" if that. Don't know if he'll offer multiple fret lengths. The solid colors will be the base models and a burst finish like Chris' will be a move up pricewise (and prices haven't been finalized). What options will be available is still in flux and I'm sure the list won't be long... it gets away from the intent of the instrument.

What Chris has is a bass that plays, feels and sounds like my Buckeye Burl 5 (same electronics, hardware, main body and neck wood) ... minus the eye candy which really doesn't affect much sonically (besides the fingerboard).

Thats a v. nice looking bass. IMO, just what Brubaker needed; a simple, solid, standard bass that shows his unique character.

Thank you. It weighs 10lb 3oz. It is super solid feeling though. I actually thought it might weigh a bit more.

I am a big time burst fan and this (to me) is nice and subtle and suits the character of the instrument. Thanks for the compliments... I am sure Kevin will see this thread and appreciate it.:bassist:
