Pulled the trigger on this beauty. Smooth matte finish on quartersawn maple neck with maple board. Nice profile and width and string spacing. Sounds like a Ric should. It’s light, probably less than 9 lbs. B string is solid. Exceptional fit and finish. Fret work is perfect. Schaller bridge is obviously a lot easier to work with than the standard Ric bridge. Yes, the black plastic triangles take some getting used to as far as the optics, but they sound fine. Walnut with matte finish is nice looking, but I have some concerns about long term durability. If other walnut Ric guys have suggestions on protecting and caring for this finish, please share. Here are the pics:
