I'd love to hear some samples of this 5er RIC, the only thing out ther on YouTube is a poorly taped video of a guy clumsily playing one so nothing understandable to hear really.

There are still no sound clips or reviews on YouTube, which tells you how few have actually made it into players hands. If you can post sound clips, you’ll be the second one most people have heard. Nice score.

A bunch of us ordered these some time ago and are (semi) patiently waiting for ours to be built and shipped. It appears that a few have now made it into shops, I'm hopeful that I'll get the call soon that mine has arrived at my local Rickenbacker dealer.

So, if you don't mind my asking, what did it set you back? I see there are Mapleglo and Jetglo versions being offered on eBay and Reverb for $2,400, and one that actually sold for $2,000. Compared with 1998-2001 versions asking $3,500, the new ones seem like a good deal. Not sure I like those pickups, though (they may sound great, but the looks...hmmmmm)
