Yeah like Lowway said; i think it's their second smallest wire. Product #0147. So yes looks like 0.08 x 0.04 from the stewmac website. But I've had Fender 'vintage small' fret wire before and it felt way bulkier than this

That #147 wire, I hate/love to say, is a bit of my doing....2 years ago, I had Cliff build my singlecut with that wire, and he liked it so much, he is using it (I believe) as the standard wire for basses. That wire was the idea of......
Dan Lakin of Lakland!! That is the wire he used for all of his US 44-94 basses (all of the models, I believe). I had Lakland #19 and #87, and helped Dan at his first NAMM show by bringing his new model to every amp booth I could! It was an honor to get folks to hear the very 1st new Lakland from some guy (Dan, not me) who bought and sold used basses using a mail subscription list! All of it was launched that NAMM in 1995!
Yeah I think it was your build that kicked things off with this wire in the Bordwell thread. Then I requested it and during my build he mentioned he was going to make it standard. I love them. Standard medium jumbo feel far too bulky now.
Thanks! The more I play it the more I find it's perfect for me. Getting a custom through Cliff is the ultimate GAS killer.
He said the same thing to me after my last build. He asked how I liked it and said he was considering it as his new standard. Glad he’s doing that.
As for gas killer, I’m not sure. I’m getting at least 1 more this year. That’ll be 5 in 6 years. I’m addicted to them.
Yeah I do sometimes think about putting a deposit down on a fretless with Cliff. But I'm happy with my duo for now. The Jaco is the perfect complement to the SCB.
The Jaco is nice, but Cliff does such nice work. I’m glad I did my fretless with him. Look at that finger board!
Yeah that's a stunning example of his work. That rounded fretboard on a fretless looks hella playable.
