NBD - Cliff Bordwell SCB 32"

Cheeky NBD cause why not.

Not much to say really, Cliff was an absolute pleasure to work with and this thing is immaculate in every way. Couldn't be a happier customer.

Cliff Bordwell SCB with 'B' headstock
32"
banjo frets
pau ferro board
ash body
flame mango top
fully passive, V/B/T, nordstrand bigrigs with coil switches.

Proud owner and this one is a lifer. Cliff is the real deal.

This is gorgeous. Those banjo frets are great, aren’t they?

I also love the way the Pau Ferro fretboard looks with that mango top. I’m doing a mango topped build coming up and will probably go Pau Ferro as well thanks to how yours came out.

In fact I love every choice you made on this build. The big rigs, the passive electronics, the woods, the headstock, the body shape. My only change would have been 30”. This is another great one by Cliff!

Congrats!

Amazing bass!! Yeah, I've had banjo frets for years and have them on every build. Narrow, enough meat to do several fret dressings, and the noes speak really quickly!

I'll be curious to hear what you think about the BigRigs.

Sound amazing so far. But I'm coming from a Squier Jaguar H for me fretted instrument so anything is gonna be a step up. But they seem to be able to cop a growly P tone and well as a burpy J. So figure it's got most stuff covered for me.
wow, the word grain is a perfect match for the black hardware and that is a truly elegant looking single cut.

would love to hear some sound samples once you get to play with it some more

Thanks! It's hard to get a 4 string single cut looking good, but somehow Cliff pulls it off perfectly.
That's sharp! How long did it take to get it? Weight?

17 months. Not too bad when you're getting regular build pics. Weight is 6.8 lb.

That is suuuuuuuper nice — congrats!

Are the strings TI Jazz Rounds? Do you like them?

Thanks! Yep TI JR, first time trying them. Between them and the banjo frets it's like a sports car. Great so far.

Yeah banjo frets feel amazing. I was also rather shocked how good the pau ferro looks in person. Go for it.

Lovely bass,

What strings does it have?
