NBD - Closet Classic Precision Pro

Didn't play it -- the CS basses were roped off so all we could do was look. But it looked beautiful--just like yours. :p

Thanks. I can't put it down. I can say its the best feeling bass I've been lucky enough to pick up. The tone is absolutely killer also. I play finger style and pick and the tones I can dial in are Fab. I get the classic P bass growl with the neck pick up, classic J bridge pup sound when soloed and when I blend the two, I get a lovely tight "modern: tone that is beautiful for slapping. Definitely my GAS killer!

Cool bass congrats. I don't like the burst on it though... there's too much black and the fade is not smooth.

By the way the 2012 Closet Classic looks like this:

Is there anywhere to listen to some sound clips of this model Fender? I wish Fender had done sounds clips to show off these nice basses.

For those lucky enough to have a Closet Precision Pro, could you try to describe the balance between the jazz and p pickup in this passive configuration?

I have yet to hear a passive p/j fender. but I have heard it has been hard to get a good mix between the two pickups in passive without the jazz pickup getting a bit buried by the p.

Hey Man, there is a video by Mike Eldred on the Fender CS site where he is demonstrating the 2012 model. Exactly the same bass except for color. Should answer a few of your questions.
