Thanks for posting this, a hobbyist made mine, he did all the layers himself, although his photo file was titled sk8 bass. Maybe he got the idea of doing laminated layers from this company. But, I can't speak for him, he did laminate and strain all layers himself. This is not a bass made from old skateboards.

Getting back on topic, what would you think about a pick guard that had a pattern and colors to match the wood?

The same way they do it in skateboards. I think it is made of old skateboards, in fact.

So, the pick guard logically should be grip tape.

Just to be clear, my bass is not made of old skateboards. The maker stained and laminated all layers independently.

I did, I have pictures from the build, but since they are not my pictures to post without permission I won't post them. I'll ask for permission.

But, please try not to misinform people about something that isn't yours. I get the comparison to the skateboard builds, but I repeat: My bass is not made from old skateboards.
