NBD Day! New Stingray!!

I like mine a bit heavy. :p
I've been looking for a lightweight Ray for a bit now. I have bought and returned two of them online. The last return was because I wanted to make sure I got the lightest I possibly could. I think I did. It weighs 7lbs on the nose! Stoked. Not necessarily my color choice but it's not terrible. Weight the biggest factor.
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous! Congrats!

How much of a difference in weight can two basses of the same model be? I'm curious as I've had basses that I thought would be lighter based on the specs, or even the listed weight, but were disappointed when I actually weighed the bass. I never thought about exchanging basses of the same model to get the lightest weight possible.

It can be huge.

I have four other Rays. They vary from 9-10.5 lbs. They have tried to lighten them up recently and done a good job doing so. This particular bass is from a run they did for one of their dealers. They get their pick from choice bodies and necks. The cost was a little more but way worth it to me.

Congratulations! Nice figuring on the fingerboard. I haven’t tried a bass with a roasted maple neck yet, it looks fantastic. BTW, I think the finish color is quite nice too.

Seven? Pounds? Or kilo pounds? Ha!

I love the look. I have a 96 Sterling in a discontinued color they called “Sunburst.” Similar vibe.

WOW! If it plays as good as it looks that's a keeper.
