Here is my new pride and joy. I have been wanting to try either a 12 string or an 8 string bass so I bought a used Dean Edge 8 for an excellent price a couple weeks ago. I instantly disliked the DR coated rounds that were on it so today, I had my luthier restring it and set it up with D'Addario chromes and what a huge difference! This beauty sounds awesome now. Can't wait to try it out in church.

My church loves the 5 string with it's deep low end. We nicknamed it "Thunder Bass".

What did you not like about the coated rounds that were on it?

I've just bought an LTD FB 208 and was actually looking for some coated strings as replacements (just for the longevity of them) as it appears to have D'addarios as standard.
