Oh, ok - I got thrown by the fact that I've only ever seen Burnt Ends with the matching headstock (probably not an option, when they're swapping the standard neck for a SLO), and that it looks clearer, with a slightly yellow / green tint in your photos.

I think of Burnt Ends looking more brown, than yellow, but then I am partially colour blind.

took me a decade but I found this exact bass minus the mutes. Still have it, it’s amazing.

Hard to imagine a Stingray neck thinner than the regular Stingray Special neck I have now (5H), but hey, it's awesome that you could get that bass. I don't think MM is noted for being flexible with out-of-the-ordinary models.

On the 4 Strings normal is 1.7; So 1.5 is quite noticeable; Similar to Vintage P's vs Jazz

On Stingray 5's it is only 1.75; So see your neck but only 4 string.

...which, compared to my Lulls at 1 7/8, is a little narrower, but not much, I guess.

No matter, I go back and forth between the Stingray and the Lulls with no effort, really. I just don't notice it.

I am not a fan of EBMM instruments aesthetically. This bass though... it's tripping triggers.

This thing with a lined fretless ebony board would probably make me drain my bank account.

My 2011 SLO Stingray is my main bass, but I'd love to get one that doesn't weigh 11 pounds..

I might've seen the same post you saw and was able to put in an order for a 4HH with SLO neck with a black finish, but your pics are making me regret my pick a little bit. It's going to be a looong wait...

The closest I've seen is a sunburst 4H Slo Special custom order that had a birds eye maple neck and a 2-band pre. No mutes. It was like a 2014 though. It was going pretty cheap and I waited to long to buy, it was already sold.

if you run through the EBMM custom diesign experience - Custom Design Experience - you will find that adding a SLO neck is a standard option. The CDE part of their website was added April 2024
