Just got mine through a local shop owned by GC/MF. 1st fret buzzed like a doorbell on the G and D strings so I left it with the tech, who is great, for set up and warranty work.

Initial thoughts from playing it in the store were great neck, good old school sound, great sounding pickups, light body and generally easy and fun to play.

The cool thing about where I bought it from was the warranty repair onsite and if Indecide not to keep it in 30'days they put it on the wall and give me my money back.

I've bought several basses/guitars from them and never turned one in.

I own over two dozen basses, all more expensive than this Epi, but this is just a FUN bass to play and still sounds better than that brand new Trutone bass that I purchased in 1965

Just picked one of these up, used. Very impressed. Mine had the
hipshot, light, tuners added. Creme color. Love the tone.
Set up nicely, great balance, and a fun neck.
Kicked some butt at rehearsal.
Only complaint, might be, very sharp edges on the Bridge.
Could take a thumb off.

Thanks,if you asked me what color I'd say gold also.Burnt Almond?I had a tough time choosing between the Green. But whatever the case it is very nice looking.This bass plays beautifully and the pups are interesting and I'm still working out the sounds.I'm wondering how a Tone Monster preamp would do in her.The potential is definitely there as it stands.As with my multitude of basses I lament the absence of them in my salad days.Oh what I could have done,but such is life.

All I did with mine was roll the fret edges polish the frets and put flatwounds on her. Maybe someday I will swap out the wiring harness, there is a gentleman on Reverb that builds a upgraded one but those pickups are great!

I must say that mine arrived in excellent condition,set up and fretwork all very good.
The pups are fine just different than anything I've dealt with previous to this. I'd be eager to see the harness upgrade.I've put Tone Monster preamps in a few of my basses.They're easy to install,sound great and are priced right.

Hi Kevin, the harness is built by Starr Guitar Systems on Reverb.

I'm installing that Starr Guitar Systems harness for the Embassy Pro this week (as soon as my reamer shows up) His harness is very well made. I wasn't going to do anything to the bass until I tightened the knobs. I opened it up, took one look art the factory harness and was like HELL NO! It's a rat's nest of tiny, cheap wiring. I can't say if there will be a massive improvement in sound, but I know there are now high quality components on the end of those incredible sounding pickups.

Let us know how you like it! Due to the fact that you generally don't see the wiring and that most people don't know the difference that's always the first thing that the company's cheap out on and it sucks when you are at a gig and you have to stand up against the wall with the bass headstock down because that's the only way the wiring works!

I will! I'll probably get to it in the net couple of days. I'm working on a nice diagram of the harness too since I couldn't find one... plenty of Volume/Blend/Tone diagrams but nothing specific to the Embassy.
