Christmas comes early!! My wife offered to buy me a bass guitar for Christmas this year, found this brand spankin' new specimen at my not so local G.C. (Mini Road Trip)- Wanted to scoop it up sooner rather than later, since these are getting harder to find :)

And, before anybody asks, No she does not have a sister, LOL

IMHO: except for the impossible-to-find sunburst ones, the red ones are far and away the nicest color.

I'd have one if it weren't for the fact that painful arthritis in my thumbs makes 34" scale length basses uncomfortable for me to play.

    Semi-hollows rock.

One of the very few 4 strings that gives me GAS.

Looks exactly like the one the man himself was playing last year when I saw him in concert.

That thing has a lot more tricks and tones than I thought. Really versatile bass (in Jack's hands anyway).

    Looks great too!

Received a gift from Sire* (see sig)
I got to see him live a few weeks ago and he wasn't even playing one! (Hot Tuna Acoustic set, he played his Ribbecke Diana! Been waiting to see and hear him on that bass, did not disappoint!)

At the risk of self promotion, I've found my JC to be incredibly versatile, from super pretty delicate singer songwriter stuff to absolutely crushing doom fuzz, fingers, pics, ebow, and equally happy with flats or wounds, though flats are my preference these days. Its like a P bass in that its up the player, the bass will do whatever its told to do.

Congrats on the new bass day!!! The 20th Anniversary is the only bass I am really gassing for right now, I hope to get one next year.

Nice one, I grabbed mine about a year ago and continue to love it everyday. A set of Gotoh Res-o-lites and a suede backed strap takes care of any neck dive you might be experiencing, and while your at it, a bone nut really improves the open string tone.

Sweet deal! I got one used (in perfect condition) last month for about half the price of a new one. It has become my main bass for acoustic gigs. Love this thing!

I love mine. Best semi acoustic bass that I've ever played.

    Congratulations & Compliments! :hyper:

Love those... I kinda' keep them in the back of my mind, and remind myself, I already have a Starfire. It even looks a little like one Cassady used to play...

Looks great with, I presume, Rotosound 66 by the red silks?

Love those basses, but not a big fan of the gold flake sparkle. I guess I'm not sparkly enough.

  18. Congrats, Crusher47.

I love any talk about this bass, and especially when someone gets one, and discovers how fantastic they are.

Are the 20th Anniversary models getting scarce?

Does anyone know how many of them were made?

    Good luck with yours.

    Mike ;)
