NBD! Extremely special Peavey T-40!

Looks minty! I've owned a couple of them over the years. The first one I bought brand new when they first came out in 1978. I paid $280 brand new with the HS case. Since the lockdown last year, the prices on them are nuts. They sold for years used everywhere in the $500-$600 range. I messaged with one dealer on Reverb last summer who was asking $1200 for theirs. He said with everyone home, bored and all that free Gov't money to spend, people were paying stupid money for used equipment. He was going to take advantage of it while it lasted.
Anyway, I've always thought the T-40 to be way ahead of it's time. You can make them sound like anything. As i got older though, they just became much to heavy to gig with. Both of mine were in the 11 lb range (my Lakland weighs 8). But, they play great and sound excellent!

Yes, the Warden sometimes lets me out on Sunday to attend Church. And because it's the Sabbath, I was trying to avoid breaching #4, #10 and possibly #8.

Thanks for that. I note the serial number, and as it's in Blighty, did it come with the machine guns and ejector seat? The latter is especially good for overly loud guitarists.

My gosh, is Blighty still a thing? I know that in WWI a Blighty wound was much-coveted.

Probably not as 'Muricanisms seem to be the predominant slang at this moment in history. My Grandfather used to use it, but in that sort of a sneering tone the Irish are wont to use on occasion.

According to some info from Chip Todd (the man who designed the T-40/T-60) that I found online, it’s magnolia… it’s not a wood I’m familiar with but it’s really stunning!

I’ve lived in Mississippi for decades, but never heard of magnolia (our state tree) being used for bodies. Will have to look further into that….

Not as rare as it looks, there where 10 original "zero" models produced for salesmen. I also have a very early 6 digit serial numbered one that I bought new!
