Are you in the US? If so, did you order it from one of those Japanese sites, or ebay stores.

I probably wouldn't have much use for it since I'm probably the only bassist who has never played in anything other than standard tuning.
I'm in Wisconsin. I ordered from Ishibashi which is the Guitar Center of Japan (not that they operate like GC but they are all over the country). I emailed them and corresponded with an English-speaking customer service rep. It was a very smooth transaction and I would definitely buy from them again. I used PayPal so I wasn't nervous about getting ripped off. The bass shipped quickly by EMS and it arrived in the states in a few days. The longest wait was it getting through customs. They shipped it in a gig bag and it arrived in perfect condition, except for a minor chip in the finish which was disclosed to me before purchase. Honestly, if you've got your eye on something, don't hesitate to contact Ishibashi. I wouldn't buy from an eBay store just because they jack up the price to cover fees. Just deal directly with the shop.
http://store.hipshotproducts.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=319IMO, usually not. However, I was talking about fitting it with a Hipshot Xtender key for drop D tuning. I put those on many of my four string basses. I just observed that the based plates on the machine heads are a bit unusual, and the screw pattern is almost a perfect rectangle. I don't think Hipshot makes an XTender that is a drop-in replacement for that screw pattern.
Really, I just thought it was funny that, given the picture of that beautiful flamed koa top, my first thought was about the screw pattern on the machine heads.

Because a sandblasted & stained bass isn't something really nice???After what Fender had to show at NAMM this year, you'd think they'd take a look at basses like this and offer us something really nice.
