NBD - Fender Japan content

I was wondering if any of the other guys who have Fender Japan basses can speak to which hardshell case to get for it. Mine came in a gig bag and I've now tried two different hardshells which haven't fit, both were Fender accessories. I've tried the ABD Molded P/J case (form fitted) and the Jazz Bass Multi-Fit case. Neither could accommodate my bass. The form fitted cut-out on the ABS was too small for the body. For the multi-fit, the body fit snugly from side-to-side, but the neck was approximately 1/2 an inch off of the neck rest. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm running out of options here.

Here are the two I've tried:

Damn! Not a fan of gold hardware but its fits that bass. Fender Japan is my go to, I own 3 I just prefer the necks on japan fenders from USA stuff.
Have you ever had problems with those Fender Japan necks? I ask because I had bad necks that ran out of truss rod on 2 nice lightweight MIMs and I just ordered a MIJ JB62 wal. And was hoping for a better outcome. The OPs bass is BEAUTIFUL! :)

As far as the sandblasted US Fender models go - I think they look a little pedestrian. I mean, if you are going to go to the trouble of sandblasting the grain to make it wild - at least spend a few minutes considering how to accent it a little bit.

Of course, just my opinion, I am probably wrong. These Ritters might be a little too showy or wild for many of you and I am sure the design team at Fender took that into consideration.

PS: I adore Fender Japan...Kudos to the OP - that is a wonderful instrument - Fender Japan is the bomb!

It took a little while to finally get this bass in my hands, but here is a 2013 Fender Japan Jazz with a koa top/ash body. I've had it set up by my luthier and I requested a bone nut and that he swap the stock pickups for SCNs. I also had the stock vintage-style black knobs replaced with gold domed knobs. I have it strung with D'Addario EXL 170BTs (.107-.45).

I'll tell you, this thing plays like a dream. I've wanted something that I can use for Jazz-fusion and this really fits the bill. With my Rick 4003 covering the vintage thump (with a little growl), this new bass will open up some different sonic possibilities. I've been playing it so much the past few days that the Rick is getting jealous. :D Anyway, hope you guys dig it.

Also, I'll have to say that Fender Japan offers WAY cooler items. Plus, the build quality is on par with American-made stuff.

Your Bass with the clear pickguard is beautiful!
Do you know if this model is nice enough looking under the pickguard to do likewise? It's the JB62pj.

You are comparing basses that cost ten times what the Fender costs! Frankly, I don't see how the finish is any more dramatic on your examples than Fender's:

I bet it took more than a few extra minutes for Ritter to get their results by the way. Those bodies are two piece bookmatched sections of some kind of stilted-flatsawn ash (or similar) that look they have is not easy to pull off at all.

I've had some good results with SKB cases. My Non-Export Aerodyne is currently residing in this particular case;

It say "Soft Case", but it's actually a rigid foam material…nice, light, a bit more compact than a rectangular case (in other words, it will fit in my Jetta's trunk at an angle :thumbsup:) and so far, pretty darn durable.

If a foam case doesn't grab you, they have a hardshell version of it. And if you want a rectangular case, there's this one which I also have;

Well, I stopped at GC the other night with my bass and found a hardshell that fit. It's the cheaper Fender tweed option, but it fits like a glove.

Can you tell me the Part Number of the case you bought? I just bought this CIJ Semi Hollow Jazz off a TB'er and it won't fit in any of the cases that my standard Jazz fits in. The lower bout is bigger. The one you have looks similar in the lower bout area.
Thanks.
