Bought this from a fellow TB'er for a good price. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Also got a Fender P Junior today too and played that first. That has huge sound just like a full sized P. This however is a bit quieter, can't decide if I like the sound or not, will have to play with it some more. Not feeling the flats either, think I might put some rounds on it. Looks pretty cool though I think!

These sound really awesome with good roundwounds. Mustang or a Musicmaster into a warm amp with a broken in set of rounds is a really special tone IMO. Grats on the bass!

It took me a while to bond with my Mustang. Not the sound - that's great.
I think it was the neck radius. I like a tighter radius than the flat boards I've tried.
9.5" feels best for me.
But the Mustang was the first that was that tight - 7.25".
I'm used to it now though.

Makes sense. I'll give it a few days but usually if I don't like an instrument from the start, it's rare that I'll like it over time. We will see though. Here's the thread for the P JR. My pic is the last reply there

They were discontinued awhile back. Might be selling this one soon though if you're interested ha. I'm gonna give it the weekend before I decide.
I have a white one that I put Nordstrand NM-4s into. I prefer it with flats.
There are two on ebay right now. One of them was at $455 +$50 shipping as of last night. I want the one that looks more vintage white than olympic white, but those seem to be harder to find. I guess everyone who bought one loves it.
Tame it how exactly? The Mustang does have flats on it already, not sure what brand. I love a thump sound, I like my E string to shake the floor when I hit it haha. I now have a Fender Jazz MIM, the Mustang, a Fender P Junior and an Epiphone EB-0. Surprisingly, the biggest tone comes from the smallest package, the P Junior. The thing just rumbles and growls, its crazy. Its tiny and looks like a kids instrument but built just as quality as the full sized P, might even have a bigger sound than the full sized version too.
Yea, I was under the impression flats gave a bigger bottom end but I get bigger bottom end out of the P Junior and EB-0 and both have rounds on them.
Well, the bottom end was fine and it sounded great by itself. It's just that it tended to get easitly buried in a band situation. I don't have that problem with flats on my Jazz or P/J.
