NBD - Fender P

2010 American Standard from Chicago Music Exchange.
I got this for $895 from Chicago Music Exchange.
It is abosolutely mint, no dings, scratches etc. (God bless poly.........ha ha ha).
I'd love to get a birth year instrument (1969) with this same color combo someday.

It plays beautifully and the build quality is top-notch.

As JimmyM pointed out in a separate thread the 2008 - 2011 stock Fender pickups provide perfect "bedroom tone".........ha ha ha.
That said, I'm going to replace it with a stock Fralin pickup.
Also, I'm replacing the rounds with Nickel Lo-Riders.

In honor of M.R. Ogle I'm naming this bass "tort-loaf"

Put cream Dimarzio's in it and you have a copy of the best sounding bass I've ever owned ('76 P, sadly it was over 10 lbs, so off it went). Love maple/burst/tort, congrats

Looks very nice. I'd try the stock pickup first. I have an '08, and a '12. I think I hear a small difference. But not enough to warrant a change in mine.

I've never been a fan of Maple finger boards or sunburst finishes, but this one has, well I'm not sure how to describe, but this one has "it" and it looks awesome. I hope it plays better than it looks!

Don't remind me...I almost had an MIA Standard P in that exact colour combo in my grasp just yesterday...but the seller backed out last minute...it hurts my feels so much still

Congrats. I have a 2010 Oly White/rosewood P-Bass, and I still haven't decided if I like the PUs, but the rest of the bass is top notch.
