It's possible they could do it. I asked them if they could do some additional routing to add a Strat-style output jack on a Jazz body. They said they'd talk to the shop manager for me. A little later they contacted me and said they'd do it for an additional $65.
I just thought of another possible hiccup in making a custom Boxer-style bass. At that slanted angle, the pole pieces of a split-coil pickup won't line up with the strings they way they normally do. I suppose a pickup with rails, instead of poles, might do the trick, though.
EDIT: I just took a look at the Bartolini site. It's quite possible a rail-style P-pup designed for a five-stringer could do the trick. Tilted at an angle, you'd still get full coverage for all strings on a four-banger.

Awesome sounding bass, I'm surprised Fender never decided to do a reissue of this bass, both with the slanted double P's & slanted PJ configuration.
They’re like quarter pounders—but two of them and with a phase switch. So...
Ya they def have that QP thing going on! I’m a little confused about the tone knob. The schematic you posted says TBX control.. what is that?
It’s a dual-stage tone. There are two pots on the same knob that work sequentially. I’ve seen other Fenders with this spec, but this is the only one I’ve played.
O interesting. Thanks! Ok one last question, and sorry this is a bit of a pain in the rear. Can you share the measurements of the pickups from the bridge or neck? Maybe the top and bottom set screws?

I saw this beauty on Avito (the Russian counterpart for eBay) a few months ago and was sure someone would buy it soon. I know that Duff McKagan popularized these basses in the west, but in the east, it was Igor Tikhomirov from the band Kino who made them known to the Soviets.
