NBD - Fender PB-555 Precision Boxer

Well, I have a new bass. I’ve been fascinated with the PB-555 since I first learned of it. Last week, one incredibly popped up on Craigslist across town. So, I did the right thing and added it to my collection.

It’s in pretty good shape but needed a little TLC, so it’s currently hanging out with my bass tech waiting for a black output jack to arrive. Still, I couldn’t wait for the NBD post. I’ll post proper photos when I get it back in my hands.

As far as I know, they were made in Japan at FujiGen for the Japanese market and never imported to the US.

I’ve seen a couple for sale on the internet in Poland and Russia. They’re not easy to find in the US.

I must say that I don't know why Fender has the D & G coil favoring the bridge for the P Basses. The coils should be the other way around.

Yeah. I’m replacing those non-original strap buttons with black ones. And I need to pick up a black strap for it, too!
