So the Fender logo and Jazz Bass are laser etched into the headstock. The serial number is on the neck plate and starts with a V. I guess this is considered a vintage entry. I really have to say that in my humble opinion, this is the best bass I have played. I have owned some nice instruments that were way above my league in my short time playing bass and I really really like this instrument. If anyone is on the fence....just do it!!

Also, not to start a tone wood conversation, but this bass definitely has a deep, dark sound to it. It could be a number of factors, but it could just be the neck.
I was actually thinking they looked like vintage tuning machines but wasn't certain with the plastic still on. Are they 70s style? Is the neck in line with the Am Pro necks or more in line with Am Original 70s?
The op should have found a way to add some stripper music... first the box... then the case... then flash it all.
I started a thread yesterday in the luthier's section asking about rosewood necks with rosewood fingerboards. I saw a Sabre bass like that a few years ago and am considering getting a Warmoth neck like that, but am concerned it will cause neck dive. So I'm really curious about how they avoided that with your bass. The obvious way would be to use a heavy body but you say yours feels light. I'd love to know your thoughts on this.
Also, that's an odd mark on the headstock that looks like where a truss rod cover would go, but the truss rod access is at the body. I wonder what that's all about.
They do that on one piece necks (i.e. no separate fretboard). The neck is routed on the back for the trussrod and a (usually walnut) insert covers the channel.

I was right! It is a Fender Electric Bass!! Congrats, I love an all rosewood neck. My next custom shop P with have an all rosewood neck for sure.

That's a jazz bass I wouldn't kick out of bed! Amazing! I would love to play one in the wild but I haven't seen one in any Denver stores. We don't seem to get many cool bass things in these parts for some reason.
