Hey, it's the bass that made me want my Flea! Shell pink is such a great and unique color that seems to be made for offsets.

I have to agree with you on the neck feel. It's such a nice full shape, without being awkward or chunky, and oddly a little fuller than the neck on my Flea '61 reissue.
Hit it with a little fretboard oil, like the tech at my gc did with some Dr. Duck's, and the grain really comes out while taking away some of that "raw" feeling.

I placed an order in early December and the UPS Santa just dropped it off. It's sort of cold, so I'm going to let is sit for an hour or so. In the meantime...any guesses?

Congrats! Absolutely gorgeous! I wish the P-version was available in my part of the world but sadly not.

Any chance you have a jazz maple neck somewhere and can post a blind test at some point? Both necks on the same bass, using the same strings? It would be really interesting. Mythbusters "fingerboard edition". I mean, if we can't hear a considerable difference in tone with this one vs a maple neck I think it's time for me to completely reconsider my ideas on tonewoods as pure confirmation bias.

I like the laser etching on the headstock - nice, understated, classy. Makes it a bit difficult for those at home without a laser to copy as well., which I'm sure they thought about.

Everything looks fine and i hope will sound, too. But what i don't like is the color of body, but that is just my opinion. You like it that's the most important and as i said before, hope you will like the sound.
