I use LaBella Copper White Nylons on my Spector. Perfect match IMO.

Brighter.I can't remember, are 500k pots brighter or darker than 250K?
Brighter...I can't remember, are 500k pots brighter or darker than 250K?
Not sure... When I first started down the DIY bass electronics rabbit hole, my soldering was a little less good than it is now. I had a couple instances that I over soldered and bridged terminals, also cooked a couple pots that made then act less normal than they otherwise would have. Not sure why changing strings fixed you up. Maybe you had something that was loose and string changing jostled thing and put it to right again. I have had pots that had terminals that were not hard-fixed in place and would move toward each other if you pushed on them:I had a mod where the tone knob did very little to change the tone,
and I even created a post about it but got no usable info.
I'm gonna try different strings on this one, BUT, I am a Mod-Aholic
so I do see upgrades in my future..057912
Just let the strings die down if they're bright.
Sorry, it took so long to get back to you, but I got hit with identity theft.Congratulations!
Nice bass!
It's been a few weeks now, how well is your plucking hand adapting to the 16.5mm spacing so far?
Sorry, it took so long to get back to you, but I got hit with identity theft.
The thief knew everything and threatened to ruin me, so I've been off the web until now.
The spacing is not the issue as much as the "across the fretboard" philosophy.
I still finger it like a 4 string and haven't used the B string much.
I need to find some tunes where having a 5 is beneficial,
but because of the thief and no new strings,
I've put it on the back burner....057912
