NBD - First P Bass

I sold a guitar this morning and picked this up! It is a 2021 Player P and came in a Gator Transit bag. The seller also threw in a Korg Pitch Black pedal tuner, the Dimarzio Clip-Lok strap (which I removed and put the stock strap buttons back on), and a long T shaped truss rod wrench from Fender.
I got it all for $500!

I just got it home, polished up the frets, and put on La Bella DTF Low Tension (43-104 I think). I also swapped the pickguard screws for black ones, as the stock were a little tarnished.

I may take this one all black if/when I decide to upgrade the tuners and bridge.
Or I may put on a nice dark tort pickguard and be done.

looks great! def don't do black hardware! looks terrible IMO, especially on a classic like a P-bass. i'd also go back to silver screws but that's just me.

i've had 2 players and they are great basses. for me, I added a vintage Fender bridge and got the proper knobs and it was a big improvement.

Black hardware looks good on a bass that...isn't already black. Keep the chrome, it looks fine as is.

Awesome bass. I don't think you would be disappointed in the look of the tort PG. If you do it, hang onto the other one. - I would not recommend MOP. I did that with a bass and it wasn't long b4 I grew tired of it. - OTOH, I've had a p bass with tort for years and it just keeps getting better looking...
