Nice bass as is, why not play it for a few month's and see if you need to change anything first? Just a old bassist who used to change parts out only to find that I spent a lot of money and it made barely a difference.

I'd say it's good to go as is, personally.

You don't want black hardware, etc. - It'll sound TOO dark! The screws may have pushed it over the edge. Save the chrome plated ones - they may sound a bit brighter!

La Bella Low Tension Flats are the best.
I love tort, but leave the black guard and chrome hardware. Its perfect the way it is.

I sold a guitar this morning and picked this up! It is a 2021 Player P and came in a Gator Transit bag. The seller also threw in a Korg Pitch Black pedal tuner, the Dimarzio Clip-Lok strap (which I removed and put the stock strap buttons back on), and a long T shaped truss rod wrench from Fender.
I got it all for $500!

I just got it home, polished up the frets, and put on La Bella DTF Low Tension (43-104 I think). I also swapped the pickguard screws for black ones, as the stock were a little tarnished.

I may take this one all black if/when I decide to upgrade the tuners and bridge.
Or I may put on a nice dark tort pickguard and be done.

Nice looking Bass!... If you change the bridge, I found that I like the Babicz bridge for the "full contact" aspect of it. Lots of arguments out there about whether it's worth the price, about $130, and if it helps the resonance or not but I personally like them!
