NBD Frankenbass now with ROS!

1993 MIM Fender Jazz body candy apple red
1978 USA Fender fretless P-neck maple/rosewood
Stereo/mono wiring(like a Rickenbacker)

I changed the wiring to a stereo/mono harness. The harness was built by @Aceonbass . He does great work. My soldering skills have dwindled with my age. Changed the MIM knobs to Fender Jazz knobs(4 large ones). I might unchanged to Ric chrome top knobs in the future.
I added a bottom jack ( not really happy with the location but it made sense at the time. I usually use a right angle cable anyways.

New Fender neck plate. Dunlop strap locks. Maybe a hootenanny button on the headstock in the future. I don’t use it, but like them there.

I put flats on it I had from the drawer. I like rounds but it will be nice to have a flats bass around. Maybe the chrome covers in the future. I like the looks of them...but...

This bass was discussed in this thread for parts compatibility.

It sounds fantastic. It’s just what I wanted. I love the color. I’m still setting it up but really...it played pretty darn good on the first try.

A new bass exists today.

Those '70s fretless Precision necks are nice (I have one).

It looks like you have two heads and two speakers... try stacking the speakers on their sides (perhaps even separating them a bit) to get a stereo image from the two pickups.

How do you get your age to dwindle? Mine just keeps going up

It’s the angle of the dangle...

I like them stacked, always have. Not looking for separation, but control of tone.

I’m not too sure if I like the flats. Not enough clarity with the low notes. Boomy. I’m very used to round wounds.

Truss was maxed out...I think. Rather than break it, I installed a washer this morning. Never had to do that before. I adjusted it some more and will see what happens.

Cap it off or just don't use it, then add the jack here. This would make your cable go with the yellow line.

If not full time, how do you use a regular TS jack?

Ya, after re-reading the OP, I forgot to add...
By pulling up on the last tone control it converts the bass to a mono wiring.

I’ve been adjusting it for a while now. It plays pretty good right now. I repaired my right angle stereo cable too. So it works better with that cable. I wish I was in a band....

I need to find a decent case or gig bag for it. It does not fit in my Schecter P/J HS case. I’m not going anywhere soon with it though.

Played it some more today. Liking it more and more. I checked the intonation. Only the D string was a little sharp.

I’m still working on getting the action lower but I like to take my time there. The flats are growing on me too. It will be nice to have a different bass sound on hand. Love the color.
