NBD! Fretless Status Graphite with a very unique finish!

Very modern sounding, strung with rounds? How were the tone controls set?
Yup, rounds and flat. Very fresh rounds, in fact.

I should've mentioned the settings -

Bass: pickup blend in the middle, on-board EQ flat, volume about halfway
Amp: Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0-10T, EQ and tone shapes flat, gain and volume both about halfway

Yeah you're right about modern sounding. I was trying to think of the right word to describe it!

I checked the Status site, but could not find any mention of a colour changing finish. I'm asumung it's a hologram? Any more info on this? It's an amazing instrument. Congrats!
I had a Streamline 5 built with a translucent orange finish. Depending on the light and angle, it varies in color from dark yellow, to orange, to deep red, and brown. Just the nature of the translucent tint on the woven carbon body.
Actually I did this one as a custom order. I've always wanted an iridescent finish, and if you look at some of those fancy modded cars, there -IS- such a thing as translucent iridescent lacquer. So I asked Rob if he could do it, and he said he actually just did one on a 6-string guitar too, so it definitely could be done. I imagine it's a product like this one - Gallon Chameleon Color Changing Pearl Flip Flop Basecoat Clearcoat Paint Kit | eBay

and I sent him images like this -

A year or two? Do you want to know how well it lasts over time?

I got a used Streamline last month and it has absolutely become my #1 bass. I still can't believe how much I like it.

I showed the pics to my wife and she says I need to order a fretted one just like it, then sell my black one when it gets here. Even though I told her that would cost a lot of money just to get it in a different color, she didn't care and said I should order one anyway.

That's about the coolest looking bass I've ever seen. Kudos. LOVE MY STREAMLINE!!!

Again amazing basses .Like my self, I'm sure there a few other's here that would love more feed back from you as time go's on with them on how they hold up as well as how they play as a little time go's on. They are new to me and no one better to ask then the guy who playing them day in and day out. Really WOW. Hot Hot Hot .

Congratulations on a lovely Streamline. Love the iridescent finish too. Rob Green strikes again. I'm not surprised at the tuning stability - I've played Status basses for many years and my Streamline stayed perfectly in tune through a -18 degree C theatre tour in the winter, even with being taken out into the cold every morning and evening.
