It's a older finish, I think they discontinued it around 2000. Sometimes referred to as the bowling ball finish

Ya it was on Reverb. Killer price on it but the guy had really bad pics so it hung around for a bit.

That swirl finish seems to be in excellent condition.
What year's your L2000?

It is in really great shape. There are a couple of dings on the back in the clearcoat. I was able to track down a previous owner through the G&L registry who told me exactly how they happened: cats, a multi guitar stand and an LB-100 were involved.

I believe it's a 2000 or thereabouts.

Previous owner's nickname for it was "gutterball"

I've never really loved the bowling ball finishes, but this one really is nice. And it ain't light, it's swamp ash

As for Swamp Ash, weight varies like no other wood, I think...my L2000 weighs 7 3 lbs!

yep I was initially not impressed, the pics were really dark, and there weren't any pics of the whole bass...I contacted the guy, and a previous owner from the G&L Registry, got some good pics and a bunch of historical info and couldn't resist.

Only thing it doesn't have is the K switch mod, which I really liked on my old L2K, I might do that one myself...

Just rolled in. Bound neck, black and silver bowling ball finish. I think it's a jazz neck too, which was an unbelievably awesome surprise.

bought used off reverb...in the bad pics it looked like the typical 1.66 or 1.75 or somewhere thereabouts L2K neck...the 1.5 was a hugely pleasant surprise
