That is just righteous. Love it (well, them). I have a Ruby Red Metallic M-2500, and that's probably my favorite G&L finish, though it's tough to choose because they're all so great. The tort guard over Ruby Red was an inspired choice, and the matching headstock takes it all the way. (Wish my M-2500 had one -- otherwise it's perfect.)
How do you like the #12 neck v. the #8? Due to finger issues I've sworn off anything but silky playing J necks, but I'm thinking a G&L #12 with the 12" radius might not be much different.
Congratulations on a great looking bass. I went for the Empress body with a #8 neck.I got Shoreline Gold with a matching headstock and a Tort guard (was there ever a question?). Absolutely love the bass, my first G&L. Hmm, you're in Blacksburg, VA? Isn't that the location of a certain music store? I don't know if I could live that close to Mr Greg and his great deals, I certainly would have a few more G&Ls in the collection.
Super nice, my LB-100 is 8.8 lbs with the #8 neck so I'm a little surprised you are that heavy. Excellent bass & color combo. How do you like the stock strings BTW? I wasn't a fan
Thanks!
Yeah, these usually seem to run around 9-9.2. Guess I got lucky (extra bass!)!
I don't love the stock strings but don't hate them either. I never like brand new strings so I'll wait a bit to see how they wear. What strings did you go for?
GHS precision flats & they are money... haven't moved back to nickels on this yet as I play 5s exclusively. It will probably be Slinkies as I'm familiar with them
Here is a much better pic from Greg at Rocket!
