Congrats on the new bass!
Here's that drop in replacement Hipshot bridge on my Thunderbird. Not cheap but worth every penny. Tremendous improvement over that Gibson three point thing.

Im unsure whether to get a hipshot or a professional setup as, even though my bass is decently playable, I still think it can be set up better... The hipshot does look awesome and adds heaps of sustain, though...
I completely agree! Krist's bass lines really fit the style of music and aren't as simple and straightforward as some people think
Those pickguards look great! And by posting this picture, this whole thread probably hates you now because you have two of these things
To be fair, I only own one now. Just sold the one in the background earlier this year. The one lying on the case has been with me since the mid 90's. It is still my all time favorite bass.
Thanks for the compliment, I just felt like the black on black on black could use some offset with a different color.
Congrats on the new bass!!! I bought one last year as a b-day gift for myself and really enjoy playing it. Yes it is heavy but it's not bad with a wide strap. I modded mine with a Hipshot bridge, Dimarzio and Bill Lawrence pickups, push/pull coil tap volume knobs, added a kill switch, new pickguard made, and moved the input to the end of the body. This thing sounds mean and nasty and I get a huge variety of sounds out of it.

Wow! Very cool upgrades! I always wondered if you could still run string through with the hipshot. Nice to see visual evidence!

Thanks guys! I like the Hipshot because I can get the action super low and it's comfortable if I rest my hand on it.
