NBD: Gretsch G2220 Junior Jet - Torino Green

That's my practice rig that I use at home and for little gigs. I absolutely love the One10.

Nice bass! Congrats! :thumbsup:

And biiiiiig +1 on the Barefaced One10 cab! I play my Fender Bassman 100T through a pair of One10's. It sounds fantastic! :)

The red is great looking too. The store I went to (Starving Musician in Berkeley) had the red, green and tobacco burst. Red and green were my faves by far. Tobacco burst was decent, but kinda took away from the distinctiveness of the bass itself.

I agree the red and green are better than the burst. The area I live in had the green one new in one store and the red one used in excellent condition for $200 in another. So that's why I went with red. I'd have been equally pleased with either color.

Way back few years. I had a GC Credit Card. But, did not use it some time. I was considering to get short scale. One of my favorite bass players played Gibson Les Paul bass. So, I decided to follow that line and found this little bass online. Decided to pull the card. Something was wrong - call us. I did. Spent 45 minutes on the phone to be advised my card was canceled. Never mind, I will not buy anything in GC in the future. Went direct to Sweetwater and decided to research same model and options. Just before I pulled debit card and pay in full, it showed something similar - Epiphone Rumblekat. Well, it's 2 times more. Let me check it first...
1/2 hour later Rumblekat with case, new strings and Hipshot bridge were on the way to me.
That's how I got my Epiphone. I love it.
I call it "My air-guitar" So easy to play, it's shameful.

Title says it all. I got bit by the shortscale bug when I got my JMJ Mustang last year, and I played this guy and "needed" it. Plus my wife encouraged me, so I wasn't gonna let the opportunity pass! I dig the green. I have two "burst" basses already (a cherry burst Stingray and a tobacco burst P), otherwise the tobacco burst looked cool too. Yes, the plastic is still on the pups - maybe I should keep it on forever like a gramma.

That green seems like it looks better in person than in pictures, am i right ?

LOVE the Torino Green! That was my first choice, but I got a great deal on this black one used last night.
I put a black HipShot bridge on it, blacked-out a bunch of the screw heads, and put LaBella Flats on it. I have no other black basses.

WOW, does this cheap little thing play great, and sounds very good too with the original hum-buckers. I would love to find some black chrome Gretsch knobs. I'll probably rewire it for VVT, because I don't like switches.

Now we've named it "Cash" after "The Man in Black". As you can see, I'm really into short-scale basses these days.

BTW, these LaBella strings were probably not the best choice for this bass and bridge combination. Had to shave off a good bit of the silk on the bridge end. Getting the intonation correct was a bit of a chore because the bridge saddles are (in some cases) not resting on the flat-wound parts of the strings either. It's all good now, but I'd pick some other variation of the LaBella flats if change them out again. I have some on my Mustang that don't have any silk on the bridge ends. Can't remember what variant that set is though.

@LowEndLobster needs our help.

Check out this thread, especially if you have a Gretsch Jr. Jet.
