My buddy’s first bass as a guitar player. It’s great. Thumpy and a killer neck. Buuuuuut…
The blend pot is wired backwards. I’ve never worked on a blend pot, opened it up and it’s the typical 6 lug looking thing w 3 on top and 3 on bottom. Anyone know for sure which wires to swap?

Not really, but if you can read schematics, here's the PDF from Fender with the wiring diagram. Looks to be 4 connecting wires and 2 jumpers on the blend pot. The blend pot is usually the first stop for the non-ground lead from the pickups (unless there are coil configuration switches which would be between the pickup and blend pot). Just follow the leads from the pickups to where they land on the blend pot (same process from the switch in between if there is one) and swap their positions.

Edit: looking at the diagram, it's the yellow and white wires which come from the red and black pickup leads that need swapping.

Yep. The wires at the pot are actually correct. Had me confused as hell. But if you follow them back, I found the yellow wire that is supposed to combine the neck pickup leads, was used to combine the bridge pickup leads.

Are you sure that it is wired backward?

On my blend pots, when I turn it clockwise until it stops, the neck pickup is on and the bridge is off. And of course, when I turn it all the way counter clockwise until it stops, the bridge pickup is on and the neck is off.

The diagram has the yellow (neck pickup) lead going to the bridge position lug on the blend pot on purpose. So it was technically right. But your fix will give you the desired result. Typical blend pot wiring has neck pickup lug on the layer closest to the back of the pot.

Hmm interesting thought thanks for the suggestion. But that would mean all of the video reviews of the bass had theirs wired backwards, and then mine was correct? Because none of the videos have the blend pot wired backwards.
