I just acquired my third Jazz.

2011 American Special Jazz (right, acquired Apr 2024)
2014 American Special Limited Edition Sandblasted Jazz (center, acquired Nov 2023)
2008 Highway One Jazz (left, acquired July 2009 as my first bass)

I'm playing my Jazz more than the 2 Rics I have. its a 2021, MIM. I'm still surpised. I did upgrade it. Black on White looks cool to me. I ordered it from GC. It arrived on a very cold day. It settled down after a few,days. Also have a great tech in my town. GC is ok. Just research beforehand.

2011 American Special Jazz in Olympic White would have come with a black pickguard originally. But the previous owner of this bass swapped it for a red tort, which turned out to be a wrong one as it didn't allow the truss rod access at the heel. So, I had the brown tort ordered.

I would much prefer the dark brown over the red.

The dark brown pick guard definitely gives a more classy look.
I’m on the fence with my two jazz basses…………most of the songs I play on a regular basis fit perfectly with my precision basses but a good jazz bass sounds sooooo much sweeter to me !
I’m sure this trio will bring you a lot of inspiration, congrats !

Every time I play a Jazz, my EQ (enjoyment quotient) goes up a couple of notches. The Highway One was my very first bass when I took up the bass for the first time at age 52, so it always feels like home sweet home.

I'm a P guy myself, and have two of them that I love equally. They are about as different as two P-style basses could possibly be -- different brands, woods, fretboards, neck profiles, pickups, etc. -- but I honestly can't imagine wanting, much less buying, a third P. I just don't know what I would do with it.

A 60’s and a 70’s and another wearing flats is how it started now 60’s, late 60’s, 70’s blocked/bound, passive fiver and an active five string can’t get enough of ‘em

Also they each have different pickups, the Sandblasted has CS60s, the Special has American Standards from 2011 and the other I am not sure about but I think they are Standards. The Sandblasted is also made of Swamp Ash adding another difference. They all sound unique in a J Bass sort of way.

First, I've always wanted an Oly Wht/tort/rosewood Jazz. And I just happened to stumble across with this one unexpectedly. I just had to go for it.

What would I do with THREE Jazz basses? A good question!

Highway One - Fender 9050L flats.
Sandblasted - Rotosound Ultramags (Alloy 52 roundwound).
American Special - GHS Pressurewound, tuned to DGCF.

Jazzy goodness in three different flavors.
