NBD - I think it's the one!

And I got it for a super sweet price as it's the last of the 2011 models with the anniversary neck plate. Brand spanking new, including case, candy and free delivery for a smidge over $900.

Something's not adding up - in the other thread, you were fussing because the shop wouldn't include a setup and your choice of new strings, and said this:

"How does £1300 constitute a cheap bass?! That's nearly $2100 of your USD. If that's cheap to you, you've clearly got more money than sense."

So, what's really the story???

£1300 is the pre-sale price.

EDIT: And why do you care what I paid for it? Jeez. Give me a break and don't ruin my happy thread.

Dude really? Hop off.

Thank you

You strongly inferred that's what you were paying in the other thread - that's being dishonest...

Whatever - I hope you enjoy your new bass...

What he said ^

Sometimes things change.... Lovely bass by the way.

Thank you

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE NEW BEAUTIFUL BASS!!!

I'm in the "I prefer the tort" camp.

And thank you.

Good to know that the phalluses hell bent on destroying someone's new bass day are in the minority.

This merits all caps: CONGRATULATIONS. I have the same bass except it's 2009 and rosewood board. I can't say enough about these post-2008 American Standards. Mine is fantastic quality. The lowest action I can get on any of my basses without buzzing. All this quality at a decent price. Buying a post-'08 American Standard is almost always a great decision.

PS -- I love the tort with white, but black is cool too!

Enjoy it, there's always something special about a NDB! :hyper:

Beautiful colour combo, with the black guard AND the tort, you'll have the best of both worlds!
Vintage vibe, or high-contrast cool :bassist:

Edit: Of course I deliberately misspelt NBD, it's what cool and hip nowadays, obviously. Enjoy the New Dass Bay

Very nice bass!
I have a 2010 Black/Black/Maple....it is my perfect, versatile, never-gonna-part-with-it bass. There is nothing I'm dissatisfied with about it. I don't even want to risk changing the pickup.
I think in the future we'll look back on these post-2008 Fenders as a "golden era".
I would love to have another in white/black/maple though, for the Dee Dee Ramone look.
