Spin it however you wish - but when you start an "Am I being unreasonable?" thread, anything other than full disclosure is not being honest... It's a fairly safe bet that you would've gotten some different responses in that thread, had you been forthcoming about the price you were really paying - instead of what you actually posted - I'm just saying...

That being said, I still hope you enjoy your new bass...

Sweetness! There's nothing in the world like laying your hands on #1 for the first time. I'm not a fan of white basses, but that doesn't mean they are wrong for everyone else. Enjoy the new axe!

I don't believe in "THE ONE" bass, but do believe that you found a nice one. Classic color combination, for sure. One of the reasons you have to "sift through" production basses is to find one that's not too heavy. It sounds like you got lucky the first go around. Have fun wearing the frets down on it! :bassist:

I'm curious - did your luck extend to it not having any significant dead spots on the G?

Congrat's! Very, very nice looking bass. While I really enjoy my MIJ P bass I did try out a new AM STD P bass not long ago and wow, what a great player! So I know how you're feeling.

I think Fender has really raised the bar with the AM STD'S. Last December I bought an AM STD 5 string Jazz bass (Candy Cola Red with a maple fretboard) and I have yet to make any kind of neck adjustments. The neck feels rock solid on those basses.

Nice looking axe! Have fun with it!

Yeah, I've left protective plastic covering on guitars for a short period of time before. I remember when I bought my first nice, new acoustic guitar (a Martin D-1) my buddy picked it up and said, "Dude, why do you have this on here," and promptly pulled it off! I wasn't going to leave it on there for long, but I thought he had some nerve doing it for me.

Pull that sticker off when you're ready (I still have the tiny American flag sticker on my Rick 4003, although I did finally remove the one that tells you what the push-pull knob does!)

Gorgeous bass! I wish they had that color/fretboard combo in the fives.

I hope it is indeed the one. It took me a couple of years to realize my Am Std was. I've bought a few basses since, but no other bass has ever made me happier. I think the black will look just as nice as the tort does on that one.

They are addictive. I bought my first P in November of 2010. Now I own three, not all Fender, but still P-basses.

Well the black pickguard has arrived and put on, and it looks fantastic! I definitely prefer it although it's a close call.

I've also given the set up a tweak and the action is now 1.5mm on the E side and 1.1mm on the G side. Wow.
