NBD: Ibanez SDGB1

So after a good number of hours on this bass, I have some notable items.
1. This bass has almost zero neck-dive. It's amazing, it just stays put. My Portamento is constantly trying to sniff my toes. I attribute this to the heavier body.
2. It's slightly heavier than my six string Portamento, see above. I'm sure the Pre-amp and extra knobs make up for a chunk of that weight. It's not heavy, it's just heavier that what I've been playing.
3. There's nothing I would change about this bass so far, except that cheap pig-tail type battery connector. I will be swapping that out, probably after the battery wears out for the first time. I'll also swap in a USB rechargeable 9v to see if it likes them. I'm 50/50 on basses accepting them without making a ton of noise. My 1994 Carvin LB76 gives me no issue. The Portamento makes horrible noises, even after shielding every cavity in that thing with foil tape.
4. The range of tones this bass gives in passive mode (bypass) is pretty wide, it always has a nice growl to it.
5. Flipping it to active mode gives you a whole new range of sounds, as one might expect.
6. The real magic when the switch is on, is in that 3 band mid knob(s). It's crazy how much you can alter the sound with that stacked knob. It's mind blowing.
7. I think string selection will be important if I want to keep the growl that I love. It came with D'Addario NYXL45130SL's on it, which sound great, but I want to see what GHS Super Steels or Contact Cores will sound like.
8. Everything about this bass feel quality. The finish on the back of the neck is perfection. Do all Nordstrands sound this good?
9. For 5 days straight, I took it off the hanger where I keep it, sat down to practice, and it was still perfectly in tune, haven't had to touch it. It's very stable. I don't know if the Ebonol helps it to stay more even, but my Portamento is finicky by comparison.
10. So far, I really like the Ebonol. It's given me no issues, stays nice and black without me really needing to do anything to it, it sounds great, and I don't see any marks thus far.

I have band practice tonight, it'll be the first time I get to play it in a mix, so we'll see how that sound. I'm really looking forward to it.

Does this bass give you warm muah as well? or is it all growl?
