NBD Ibanez SR1205E

After being completely hooked on my Warwick FNA Jazzman 5 for the past year, I decided to mix things up a bit and purchase an Ibanez SR1205. I came across one in a Guitar center and was floored by the looks. Being a lefty I only had the opportunity to play it upside down and get an idea of how it sounded. I really loved the tone of the Nordy big singles and the neck was just plain sweet. Soooo, when I found out that they are now being offered in a lefty version I had to take the plunge. Got it off zzounds and I have to say, this thing came pretty much perfectly set up. Haven't had to tweak anything as of yet. Very nice range of tones from what I've worked with so far but I still have a lot of experimenting to do with it. Very comfortable to play, and super light compared to my Wick. Here's a quick pic to wet your eye-whistles. I'll take some better ones when I get home from work tonight.

I have the 1206E, I'm sure, the 1205 is pretty similar, I absolutely love it. My teacher is also very impressed by it and he has an impressive stable of basses.The clarity and warm sound that comes from the Nordstrands is what really makes the bass shine. Great construction, beautiful finish. The slim neck allows you to play really fast. I love to slap, and its great for that, the clarity of the pickups really comes in nice when youre plucking chords, they come out clear, when on other basses it's more muffled. I see good deals on 1205 on the used market, I think Musicians friend had one for around $900 in near mint condition. I played all the lower end SRs below the premium series, had an SR800 4 string for about a week before I returned it, the premium series with the Nordys are a completely different animal. They have the same shape but other than that feel and sound much different. The premiums feels like a boutique instrument where the lower ones feel like they were mass produced.
