You're welcome. It's one of the bits of information I keep in a folder of plans, wiring diagrams and the like I've built up over time. I just wish I had all the pre internet stuff I used to have on old fashioned paper copies. Though there's still a few old things in a folder somewhere, early 1980's DiMarzio pickup catalogues and the like. I should dig them out some day and scan them into my computer....)

I do the same, but I'd mislabeled it. Found now and my data is backed up in several places.

That's the way. Backups in several places is a good idea. For years I've always backed up to an external hard drive, then about a decade ago I had my laptop fail, I thought, all OK, I have everything backed up. Then three days later my external drive failed! Before I'd copied everything to the new computer! Bloody unbelievable!
These days I have an external drive as backup, plus a few USB's, one for photos, one for music, etc. You can never have enough back up options...

By the way and back on topic, the OP's double P is a stunner. (So are all the others posted so far too. You b#*^$*^s have got be planning a double P build now.)

Firstly this bass looks like a vibe!

Second... it's a very cool third way to have J spacing on the P pickups but a thumb rest in the middle. So far I find I can get a more trad P sound by using that thumb rest but have much greater tonal variety if I want other sounds.

Will make this a good workhorse/gigging bass.

Warmoth Leland Sklar P Body, MIM Fender P neck. Twin EMG active P pickups, quick change battery boxes, Hipshot extender.

Etc etc.

In short, plays great, looks great. The neck pickup particularly sounds eff-ing HUGE.

Have never played a P with flats on before, actually, so looking forward to exploring that sound too.

Yes, you're right, brass nut.

Given when the bass was made, a brass nut wouldn't be unusual. There were a lot of brass nuts, brass bridges, brass control knobs, brass control cover plates, (brass just about everything) around then.

(In the mid 70's to early 80's I used to cut all my electric guitar and bass nuts from square brass stock and all my builds were laminated through necks and heavily carved bodies.... I loved making them, but boy, were they labor intensive when the only power tools I had were an electric drill, a jig saw and a 1/4 sheet finishing sander.)

Kinda funny to think about how, while the P is arguably the most-recorded bass in history, Sklar's P which is one of the most recorded P's in history, has two pickups in the Jazz position.

The bridge pickup has the EA coil in the 60s J spot, but the neck pickup is located considerably neckward vs the typical J neck pickup location.

So thanks to this evil thread, I'm actively conversing with Warmoth on the possibility of a precision body with this pickup configuration.

I love you all and hate you all at the same time. This isn't the bass I need, but I sure do want it. Will make for a nice winter build.

I'm already planning on a Tru-Oil finish, I've got an old jazz neck that has had the frets filed down so much they're probably the equivalent of mandolin frets anyways... and I've got a set of Lace Alumitone P's sitting in a box. I might use them, or I might get some Nordstrand Powerblades. Either way I'm gonna go passive... so we'll see how it goes. Just need to see if I can find a template for that control plate.
