Holy, mother of.....

THIS THING! Talk about TONE and versatility? Lordy. She has the infamous Walbucker (modeled after Wal pickups). Yeah, each pole is it's own, individually-wound coil.

And the preamp...Noll 3 band but get this...each EQ knob (bass, mids and treb) is a stack so you can adjust the filter frequency (bottom) and the boost/cut (top) for each (yes, all 3, bass, mids and treb)!!!!

To top it off, you have 2 mini, 3-way toggles (serial/single coil/parallel). You can make this thing sound like anything.

The woods, the build quality.....sheesh. Hat's off to Maruszczyk and what the polish luthier's have been putting out in general.

Very, VERY nice!

I had no idea about this bass until this post, but at the same time I've been in the planning and component acquiring stage to utilize a custom Warmoth jazz body and neck with Rautia multicoil pickups and a Lusithand filter preamp. I posted the specs and a rendering on the Warmoth thread. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing your bass using a standard multiband preamp.

Awesome tone, and there’s a definite Wal edge to it. Can you mention whether the Jazzus is strung with the stock Maruszczyk rounds, or did you put on a set of your own?

The pickups in this bass are Walbuckers made by Bassculture in Germany. They are available, but delivery times are currently long (according to info on the Maruszczyk site).

Nothing to do with the Wal company.

On another topic, I had this bass with me this evening for her first gig. Our regular Soundman told me at sound check, that it may just be the best sounding bass that he's heard me play (and I have a lot of them as some of you may know). That's quite a compliment

I'm trying to figure out if I try to replicate your bass or go for a more typical ash body/maple neck/maple FB deal. I really do dig that Wal kind of sound you are getting with those pickups in series.

My Soundman told me, that moving forward, to leave my other basses at home. He simply loved the tone of this amazing instrument!

I've been hearing a lot about the folks at Maruszczyk - it seems their prices are super reasonable for the option of a custom instrument (well under $3,000 USB if I'm parsing that out correctly). Killer!

I know this is an old thread, but I just had to say this is an incredible build, hopefully you're still enjoying it!

Call me crazy, but I would love pretty much this exact bass (maybe a different top wood and possibly the Turner Multicoil + Lutishand combo vs walbucker and Noll?) but headless and multiscale.

They already make other basses headless and/or multiscale, so imagining that for a Wal-ish thing seems like an end game bass for me.
