NBD - Maruszczyk Sputnik 6-26

I finally received this beauty from Adrian a couple of days ago. For those of you who still don't know the work of Adrian Maruszczyk, he's been called the "polish Fodera". Truly spectacular basses. And he also has a Link Removed, a resource that allows endless hours of planning your next bass.

So, let's talk specs:

Model: Sputnik 6 strings, 26 frets
Scale: Long scale 34¨
Body wood: brown coloured swamp ash
Top wood: walnut burl
Veneer: maple
Body finish: gloss
Neck construction: set in
Neck wood: 3 piece roasted birdseye maple
Neck finish: matte
Neck profile: Modern C
Nut width: 52 mm
Nut depth: 18,5 mm at the first fret, 23 mm at the 12 fret
Carbon rods: yes
Fingerboard wood: birdseye maple
Side dots: super blue 2 mm with ring
Fingerboard inlays: black blocks
Fingerboard radius: no radius
Headstock type: matching headstock
Headstock finish: gloss
Headstock logo: white acryl
Pickups: Bassculture 38 HB open
Electronics: John East Uni-Pre 5 + 2 switches for both pickups
Hardware colour: black
Bridge spacing 17 mm
Bridge type Hipshot A-Style aluminum
Knobs type: ETS
Tuners type: Hipshot Ultralite Y-style 3/8
Security locks: Dunlop Flush Mount Straplok

Gorgeous! I’ve built 3 of these in the last week online (dreaming). Very reasonable price for a custom bass (usually ending up around $3,300 for a Frog or Paddock 6). Beautiful stuff. I think I’d go with the Delano Xtender w/Delano 3 band. No bad gear that they’re using at Maruszczyk. Congratulations!

I built a Paddock and a Frog, both with a Hipshot extender, both 6’s. Just thought, “Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it”. Both around $3600. “To die, to sleep - To sleep – perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub...”

I very much want a frog. I'm thinking this, but multiscale, with the dingwall 2x pickup selector and the bass 10 tonestyler replacing the blend and tone respectively. Alder body with a matte charcoal frost finish, the standard bolt on 3 piece maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. Nothing too fancy looking, more sleek and understated, with classic tonewoods, passive electronics, and modern everything else. Comes to about 3150 AUD, or 2300 USD (that cursed exchange rate rips us Aussies hard).
