Love the pickup cover!

I think it's Rosewood that had some voids in it, so, to tie in with the fret markers, Joe filled them with crushed Turquoise. It's subtle, but I like it. As I mentioned, Joe usually goes all out with inlays and stuff, but I prefer a simpler look.

Thank you! I'm sure I will. I tried not to get my hopes up too high for it, but it's really exceeded my expectations. I'm starting to downsize my collection a bit and am already contemplating a 5 string from Joe.

I’ve been a fan of Joe’s designs for years and you sure spec’d a beauty! That sound is really something - like a P bass with a scalpel blade. Congratulations!

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have Joe so nearby and accessible. It took a lot of the anxiety out of doing a project like this. Joe is a real pro. The p/u is out of an old Guild bass and I've always thought that those p/u's had the best qualities of a Precision and a Rickenbacker... throaty mids and high-end sizzle. It's placement is right where the bridge p/u on one of those Guilds is and it happens to be in the same spot as a Ric bridge p/u. Thanks!

Joe sent me a link to a supplier that he used and, of course, I started seeing ads for every wood supplier in the world. I'd send him links to stuff I liked and we'd discuss the plusses and minuses of each. Every step was a very collaborative process, which I liked and Joe did a few things he hadn't done before on this bass... chrome hardware was one of those things.

That’s one of the nicest looking “fancy” basses I’ve ever seen.
I do love understated simplicity. Also love the 1 pickup, passive sound very much.

To be honest, I'm not a "fancy bass" guy, but I'm very pleased with how it came out.

It was a WW2 reference - the general at Bastogne allegedly replied 'nuts' when asked to surrender. It amused me as it's Bastogne wallnut.

I was just today learning With A Little Help From My Friends using one of TJH's vids. Delightful bass line! Mr. McCartney is not a musician you can look smart criticizing, and this bass line is just delightful genius, I'd say.

Ahem....I've been a fan of TJH's bass covers for a while now. I like him as a person and he NAILS those videos. His competition is reliably inferior, sorry to say. I am glad to see, here, that he has an appropriate crowd of admirers.

And....somebody must have mistreated TJH here. The pain is apparently not gone. Very sorry for your experience, Troy. We like seeing you here. If I catch someone disrespecting, I am not going to be very nice.

Oh and...nice bass.
