Just picked up this Diego Blue Sabre last night. New strings, slight truss rod adjustment, and it sounds awesome!! Love the mutes!!

What a beauty. When I finally had the money to buy myself a proper Musicman bass there was this gorgeous sunburst & tort pg Sabre Classic and an equally beautiful sunburst & black pg Sterling 4H, both brand new. The Sabre was 750 euros more than the Sterling. Bought the Sterling 4H, swapped the pg for a brown tort one. Very happy with the Sterling but when I see a beautiful Sabre like this one... Perhaps one day I'll buy myself a Sabre Classic too.

You can't go wrong with the Sterling!

Congratulations - and I'm quite envious - I tried to buy one of those in the UK but that was the only colour not available in the country - and I couldn't get one because it was discontinued - awesome colour.

Mine is Neptune blue and even rarer - mahogany body and roasted flame maple neck - but I'm still very envious!! The Neptune blue really pops under bright light.

Have you guys tried the P bass setting (neck single coil)!! It's pretty cool.

Thanks - after chasing the Diego blue without success, I nearly ended up with a trans White but when the Neptune blue was announced for one month across the bass range I decided on that for the Sabre - I've never seen another one!!

Yeah the mutes are good - can add thump especially when recording direct. My favourite setting on the Sabre is position 4 on the switch - bridge humbucker and neck single coil - it just adds a nice bit of extra bass/low mid to the MM sound - I call it the Lakland setting!! Enjoy your bass - they are great.
