Bass has arrived - see pics below!

Still waiting!!! This has to be some kind of worst case scenario. Waiting on FedEx for NBD on the day of your first show of the season. AHHHH!!!

But also, first world problems, so.... not that big of a deal in reality.

It's here! Nothing super special, but always fun to have a new bass. This one is completely different than my Lakland DJ5, so it'll be cool to have such a different tonal range.

1995 MiM Fender P
High mass bridge
Lollar pickups
Currently strung with flats
And it came with a nice Mono gig bag (wasn't expecting that!)

Action is super low to the point of some minor buzzing, so I'll have to raise it a bit before I can call it perfect, but a brief plug into the amp shows promise. Looking forward to getting to work with this one!

"flats"? Haha. I have no clue. I'm new to flats. They honestly don't sound that different from my current (old) rounds on my DJ5. Could also be that the Lollars bring out different frequencies or something. It's not nearly as dead or flat sounding as I expected.

Agreed. It's in really good shape. Only thing I will have to figure out is the nut seems really low, like it was shaved down at some point or something. Strings vibrate against the frets pretty easily at the moment even with pretty light playing. Neck looks to be fine, and bridge operates easily. I've raised it some at bridge for now, but may need to look at some fret / nut adjustments.

Might be the nut from what you've described. you can always test this out by putting something underneath each string where it rests on the nut to raise it a little and see if it alleviates the issue.
Also check the angle at which the neck is to the body, if the frets seem level, neck is straight, nut seems okay, sometimes it's the neck angle that needs an adjustment using a slight shim. (Something I've had to do with some of my older basses, not uncommon)

Regardless, looks like you've got yourself a very nice bass.

Hard to tell if the silks are green or yellow, so I would guess either Fender flats or DR Legends
