A little late with this post, but got a new ESP-LTD PT4 about a month ago...and I absolutely love it! Pictures don't do it justice; it's one of the most beautiful instruments I've ever seen.
This thing sounds amazing! I love the jazz body, and always wanted a P/J and passive electronics. Love the simplified controls; vol/bal/tone..the more knobs there are I find myself constantly tweaking them so this is great! The Seymour Duncan pups sound incredible. I play out of a new Rumble 500...and holy crap does it crank!!
It was setup almost perfectly out of the box...was even in tune! Only thing I'll do is lower the action a tiny bit. I like strings as low as possible without having and fretbuzz. I like how my Ibanez feels, and want to replicate that.
The only tiny thing is that the headstock is slightly heavier than the Ibanez, and it wants to hang horizontally. No neck dive, but I like to play with the headstock almost near my head sometimes! The Ibanez is balanced beautifully. But I did get a new strap with a suede backing so it stays in place much better now. The Ibby will now be my backup/practice bass, or if my band ever plays anything detuned I'll have that handy.
Couldn't be happier with it...but now I'm already eyeing a Fender Jaguar...GAS is real!!
