Thanks, I had the strap picked-out within a day of ordering the bass. Then I waited until after the bass came before I ordered the strap. That was nearly my undoing!

I dig the strap you have on your blue Acinonyx too!

They are 3/8" posts, according to my tape measure.

I think that's only in the short term. As I understand, they'll get more in later this year.

I think the pickguards from one Acinonyx to another are interchangeable, but probably not with any other basses.

Latest madness. I found the string tee right next to the G string tuner just looked bad to me. And I really like roller string tees, soooooooo....

My first mods to Ace.

I left the original hole alone because it does not bother me, and I've not figured out what I would fill it with anyway. I've had a number of wood fillers fall out over time, so there's that.

I also tested the look with the original string tee and a screw whose head closer matched the color of the metal.

I like this look so much better than the original location.

I also polished up the pickup covers with MAAS metal polish. It is supposed to last a long time, protect pretty much any metal, and bonus: it smells like lavender!

I like the rollers and I don't know why more builders don't use them. They take up a lot less space and eliminate the friction between the bridge, nut, and tuners.

The bridge pickup is placed slightly closed to the neck on these basses. Lovely character. These basses lean away from aggressive and are smooth, yet still bite-y.

Yes, I'm fond of them for the reasons you mentioned. If I find some that look prettier, I may move to other models, but the black looks OK too. I really didn't like the original placement of the string T just off of the G string tuner, so I'm quite happy now.

Good point, it looks a little crammed there. I like the idea of a roller retainer.

It's the volume knob. Pickup selection is by the push-buttons.
